During her battle with brain cancer, Steph showed a unparalleled courage and tenacity of spirit. The name for this site comes directly from an example of her incredible strength: Steph, upon learning of another reoccurence of her cancer, went and bought pink shoes, which she wore frequently throughout the latter days of her illness. Her saying “It’s hard to be sad when you’re wearing pink shoes” has become a touchpoint for those who knew of her unrelenting positive approach.
By naming this site Pink Shoes we hope to remind everyone of the key qualities that Steph possessed that we can learn from: unshakeable faith in the good side of life, a determination to make everyday a good one, the abliity to see a silver lining in a dark situation and fierce commitment to achieving goals in the face of adversity.
